Consumer sentiment in the country worsened in November amid rising concerns over slowing exports and uncertainties regarding policy changes under the incoming Trump administration.

According to the Bank of Korea on Tuesday, the Composite Consumer Sentiment Index(CCSI) stood at 100-point-seven in November, down one point from the previous month.

A reading above 100 indicates that optimists outnumber pessimists.

The subindex that measures consumers’ economic outlook, one of the six indices that make up the CCSI, plunged seven points from a month earlier to 74, its lowest point since last November.

The consumer sentiment index for housing prices hit 109 in November, down seven points from the previous month, representing its largest fall in eleven months.

Expected inflation for the year ahead remained steady at two-point-eight percent.
