Amid an ongoing student occupation at Dongduk Women’s University to protest talk of the university becoming coeducational, the school plans to seek a court injunction to force the students to vacate the main building.

According to a university representative on Wednesday, the school intends to submit the application to the Seoul Northern District Court this week.

The school said the prolonged protest is disrupting the university’s overall operations, including its admissions procedures.

Students have taken over the school’s main building and other premises since November 11 and are calling for a complete end to any discussion of adopting a coeducational system.

The students have continued their protest despite the school and student representatives agreeing to resume classes and halt the occupation last Thursday.
