Overcast skies are forecast for Thursday nationwide, with rain or snow expected to continue until Friday in some parts of the country.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, heavy snow is forecast for the capital area, Gangwon Province in the east, and the central Chungcheong region on Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
Some parts of Gyeonggi Province and the eastern part of Gangwon Province are expected to see over 20 centimeters of snow, while Seoul and Incheon are likely to receive more than ten centimeters, and the central cities of Daejeon and Sejong should get up to seven centimeters.
Up to 20 millimeters of rain are expected in Seoul, Incheon and Gyeonggi Province; up to 30 millimeters in Gangwon Province, Daejeon, Sejong and the Chungcheong region; and up to 20 millimeters in the southwestern Gwangju and Jeolla regions.
Morning lows on Thursday are projected to dip to between minus five and minus six degrees Celsius, with daytime highs between three and 12 degrees.
