Heavy snow is expected for most parts of the nation through Thursday, particularly in the central regions, with strong winds set to bring the mercury down.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on Wednesday, more than 25 centimeters of additional snow is set to fall on the southern parts of Gyeonggi Province, more than 20 centimeters on Gangwon Province’s mountainous areas, and up to 15 centimeters on parts of North Chungcheong Province.

Seoul and the surrounding areas are likely to see between three and ten centimeters of snow on Thursday.

Precipitation is expected to die down in the afternoon, except in the Chungcheong and Jeolla provinces and on Jeju Island.

Also on Thursday, strong winds blowing 25 meters per second are projected for all coastal areas and Jeju.

Morning lows will stand between minus five degrees Celsius and minus six degrees, while afternoon highs will range between two and 12 degrees.
