President Yoon Suk Yeol held a meeting with a Ukrainian delegation led by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov on Wednesday to discuss ways to deal with the deepening military collaboration between Russia and North Korea.
The presidential office in Seoul said that Yoon and Umerov agreed that the two sides will continue to share information related to North Korea's troop deployment to the Russia-Ukraine war and transfer of Russian military technology and weapons to North Korea.
Following his talks with the South Korean president, the Ukrainian defense chief also held separate meetings with Yoon's national security adviser Shin Won-sik and defense minister Kim Yong-hyun.
The visit comes after telephone talks between Yoon and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy last month.
In an interview with KBS last month, Zelenskyy emphasized Ukraine's urgent need for South Korean anti-aircraft missiles and artillery systems to counter threats from Russia.
