The South Korean blockbuster film "Taegukgi" is to be released in U.S. theaters in September.

The film's U.S. distributors said Thursday that the motion picture will hit theaters both in Los Angeles and New York on September 10th under the title "Taegukgi: The Brotherhood of War."

The movie will eventually be rolled out onto screens in 35 cities across the U.S. Prior to the film's release, three preview screenings will be held next month.

Directed by Kang Je-gyu, the film follows the whirlwind lives of two brothers caught up in the 1950-53 Korean War. It has already raked in six billion won or five million dollars from exports to 14 countries, and debuted in Japan last month in the box office top ten.
