The average prices of gasoline and diesel both increased for the seventh consecutive week.

According to the Korea National Oil Corporation's(KNOC) price information system Opinet on Saturday, the average price of gasoline rose four-point-three won on-week to one-thousand-638-point-three won per liter, or one U.S. dollar and 17 cents, in the fourth week of November.

The average price of diesel also surged eight-point-one won to one-thousand-475-point-eight won per liter.

International oil prices rose this week amid market anticipation that countries in the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries(OPEC)-Plus could delay a decision to ease production cuts and uncertainties surrounding the Israel-Hezbollah ceasefire.

An official at the KNOC expected the uptrend, particularly in gasoline prices, to continue due to the increase in international oil prices on top of the effect of a recent rise in fuel tax.
