President Yoon Suk Yeol has instructed his aides to take proactive measures to boost domestic demand and consumption.

According to presidential spokesperson Jeong Hye-jeon, Yoon gave the instructions Monday during a meeting with senior presidential secretaries at the Yongsan presidential office in Seoul.

Yoon pointed out the recent decline in economic indicators, such as next year’s projected economic growth rate, and emphasized the need for action to improve the macroeconomy and address polarization.

The president’s remarks appear to reflect increasing uncertainty and worsening economic indicators.
