Inflation Rises 1.5% in November

Inflation stayed in the one-percent range for the third consecutive month in November. 

According to Statistics Korea on Tuesday, the consumer price index stood at 114-point-four last month, up one-point-five percent from a year earlier. 

The index fell below three percent in April and dropped to the one-percent range in September for the first time in three-and-a-half years.

The index then remained in the one-percent range for three straight months. 

Prices of agriculture, livestock and fisheries products increased one percent on-year, while industrial products saw a zero-point-six percent price increase in November. 

Service prices gained two-point-one percent in November from a year ago.

Core inflation, which excludes volatile food and energy prices, rose one-point-nine percent year-on-year.
