A cold snap has gripped the nation, with a sharp fall in temperatures in the central region.

Morning lows dipped by five to ten degrees Celsius in the central region on Tuesday morning, with the season’s first cold wave advisory issued for Incheon.

The mercury dipped to minus two-point-two degrees Celsius in Seoul as of 6 a.m., with the wind chill factor lowering temperatures further.

Afternoon highs on Tuesday are expected to range from three to 12 degrees, down eight to eleven degrees from the previous day.

The cold snap is likely to let up Thursday afternoon.

Strong winds of 55 kilometers per hour are forecast for most parts of the nation.
