Seven out of ten large companies in the country remain undecided on their investment plans for next year or have no plans at all.

Mono Research surveyed 500 leading companies in terms of sales from November 13 to 25 and found that 56-point-six percent were undecided about next year’s investment plans.

Also, eleven-point-four percent of the respondents said they had no investment plans for next year.

The two figures increased by six-point-nine percentage points and six-point-one percentage points, respectively, from a year ago. 

Thirty-two percent of the companies said they have investment plans for next year, down 13 percentage points from a year earlier.

The poll was commissioned by the Federation of Korean Industries, South Korea’s leading business lobby.
