The government said stock markets will open at 9 a.m. as usual on Wednesday, after parliament overturned an emergency declaration of martial law that President Yoon Suk Yeol declared late Tuesday night.

A finance ministry official said the decision was made during an emergency meeting of the nation’s top economic and financial officials at 7:30 a.m.

Yoon lifted his martial law order early Wednesday morning after the National Assembly unanimously passed a resolution to revoke it.
