The police say they're considering additional compulsory investigations targeting President Yoon Suk Yeol for his emergency martial law declaration on December 3.
An official from the National Office of Investigation's special investigation team said during a briefing on Friday they are currently reviewing whether to request an arrest warrant for Yoon.
The official said the police are also reviewing the possibility of executing a warrant to search the president's residence, issuing a warrant to seize communication records, and summoning him for police questioning.
On Wednesday, the police obtained a search warrant from the court and attempted to raid the Yongsan Presidential Office.
However, the presidential security service blocked the entry of the investigators, citing reasons related to national security, and they were only able to obtain limited documents via voluntary submission.
