Global Oil Prices Post Record High at $43.83 a Barrel

Global oil prices have again posted a record high driven by fears of terrorism and the possibility of political upheaval in oil-rich nations.

The September batch of West Texas intermediate crude oil was traded at 43.82 dollars per barrel at the New York Mercantile Exchange Tuesday, up two cents from last weekend.

Meanwhile, London's Brent North Sea crude oil for September delivery was traded at 39 dollars per barrel, continuing the steady hike in international oil prices.

Industrial analysts said that the recent warning by the U.S federal government of possible terrorist attacks against "iconic" financial institutions in New York City and Washington had attributed to propelling global oil prices to record high levels.
