The National Assembly will begin a two-day confirmation hearing for three justice nominees for the Constitutional Court on Monday.
A special parliamentary committee will hold a confirmation hearing for Jung Gye-seon and Ma Eun-hyeok on Monday and Cho Han-chang on Tuesday.
Ma and Jung, who were recommended by the main opposition Democratic Party(DP), are both judges from the Seoul Western District Court.
Cho, who was nominated by the ruling People Power Party(PPP), is a former judge of the Seoul High Court.
The DP said it plans to adopt confirmation hearing reports on Tuesday if no serious red flags are found, and hold a plenary parliamentary session on Thursday or Friday to pass motions on the appointments of the justices.
The ruling party, however, said it plans to boycott the hearings and warned that if the DP railroads the motions, the PPP will immediately file a jurisdictional dispute with the Constitutional Court.
