Police booked Song Min-ho, a member of K-pop group WINNER, as a suspect over allegations that he did not properly fulfill his mandatory military duties as a social service officer.

According to the Seoul Mapo Police Station on Thursday, the case against the 31-year-old was opened after the Military Manpower Administration requested an investigation on Monday.

The police intend to decide whether Song violated the Military Service Act after reviewing the request from the manpower agency.

The state agency reportedly holds a position that should the police conclude that Song had violated regulations applied to his military duty, he must be reenlisted for the duration of time in question.

Song, who began the alternative form of active-duty military service last March, was discharged on Monday from a facility in Seoul's Mapo District.

Last week, a local online outlet reported that Song is suspected of being negligent in his duties.
