In a related development, the Greek government has pledged to provide an appropriate level of security for the South Korean delegation to the games.
In an interview with Yonhap news agency, the Greek Ambassador in Seoul announced the plan, but he did not reveal the specific security level to be granted to the Korean players and officials.
The envoy's remarks are raising doubt over Seoul's announcement last week that Greek authorities had decided to categorize South Korea within the highest anti-terror level for the Games, along with American and British Olympic delegations.
Seoul remains jittery over the security of its nationals abroad following its recent decision to send additional troops to the war-torn nation of Iraq.
