Landing Gear Failure Likely Caused Muan Plane Crash

The passenger plane that crashed at Muan International Airport on Sunday morning was found to have failed to deploy its landing gear when it landed.

Footage of the accident showed that the Jeju Air flight, carrying 181 people, belly landed for about ten seconds without its landing gear extended.

The plane failed to reduce its speed until it reached the end of the runway and crashed into the fence, resulting in an explosion and fire.

Another footage showed smoke from the engine of the plane before landing at the airport.

A malfunction of the landing gear appears to have caused the crash.
