A global info-tech research and consulting firm says South Korea, China and India will be the three leading IT markets in the Asia Pacific region this year.

The International Data Corporation (ITC) said Thursday the three countries will likely account for 80 per cent of the incremental regional market revenue this year and that India will drive the region's IT market out of stagnation.

The IDC said India's IT market is enjoying unprecedented growth, backed by strong economic performance, low inflation and low interest rates.

The firm also said this year would set the stage for the arrival of wireless era in India, with a number of service providers there dealing with Code Division Multiple Access and a European-style Global System for Mobile Communications.
