China says it will issue visas for South Korean lawmakers to view relics of the Goguryeo Kingdom in China.

GNP legislator Park Jong-woon said the Foreign Ministry in Seoul had been notified on Friday of the Chinese Embassy's abrupt reversal to issue travel visas for the lawmakers.

Accordingly, the GNP lawmakers will leave for China Saturday morning.

The group of 11 GNP legislators had planned to depart Friday for a four-day trip to Shanghai and Yanbian to tour local remains of the ancient Goguryeo kingdom.

On Thursday, the Chinese Embassy in Seoul refused to issue visas for 11 lawmakers from the main opposition Grand National Party (GNP). The embassy did not offer any explanation on the refusal.
