A rape suspect who allegedly stabbed two police officers to death last week has been taken into custody.

Authorities say Lee Hak-man, was arrested Sunday at an apartment in western Seoul, where police were responding to a report that Lee had broken into a residence and had taken two people hostage.

The 35-year-old suspect had been the subject of an intense manhunt after allegedly stabbing to death two policemen on August 1st while they were attempting to apprehend him.

A reward of 50 million won or some 43,000 U.S. dollars had been offered for information leading to his arrest and around 50,000 posters distributed nationwide.
