Private Chinese Websites Introduce Goguryeo as Part of Korean History

Two private Chinese Websites were found to have introduced the ancient kingdom of Goguryeo as part of Korea& 039 s history.

"Sohu.com" explains that the kingdoms of Silla, Goguryeo and Baekje were established on the Korean Peninsula after 100 B.C. This explanation was similar to the one that was posted on the Chinese Foreign Ministry before it deleted the section in April.

Another Website, "Sina.com," includes Goguryeo as one of Korea& 039 s three major kingdoms.

The descriptions are in stark contrast with the Chinese Foreign Ministry& 039 s claim to the ancient Korean kingdom.

In April, the Ministry deleted a section describing the Goguryeo kingdom as part of Korea& 039 s past from its online introduction of Korean history, triggering strong protests from South Korea.

China has turned down Seoul& 039 s request to restore the deleted section.
