Rain, Snow Expected for Monday

Rain or snow is expected for most parts of the nation Monday. 

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, mountainous areas in Gangwon Province, which received heavy snow on Sunday, are expected to see more than 30 centimeters of additional snow Monday, for a combined snowfall exceeding 70 centimeters.

The province’s eastern coastal areas are expected to see ten to 20 centimeters of snow Monday, while the northern parts of North Chungcheong and North Gyeongsang provinces are forecast to receive more than 15 centimeters.

The snow is likely to let up in the afternoon before resuming early Tuesday. 

Jeju Island is expected to receive five to 20 millimeters of rain Monday. 

Afternoon highs are expected to range from three degrees to eleven degrees Celsius, seven to 12 degrees lower than the previous day, with seven degrees forecast for Seoul.
