North Korea and the United States have yet to discuss details for the next round of six-way nuclear talks.

The two sides held informal talks on the sidelines of an international seminar on the North's nuclear issue in New York Wednesday, but failed to set the agenda and timeframe of the nuclear negotiations.

North Korea's deputy chief to the six-way talks, Lee Geun, said he held open and interesting discussions with U.S. counterpart Joseph de Trani at the New York seminar, but refused to elaborate.

Organized by the National Committee on American Foreign Policy, the closed-door conference, which ended on Wednesday, was aimed at exploring possible solutions to the standoff over Pyongyang's nuclear arms development program.
