The Ministry of Education is considering adopting Korean history as one of the mandatory subjects of the examination for civil servants.

The ministry said Thursday that it would also seek ways to strengthen Korean history education when revising elementary, middle and high school curriculum in the future.

The ministry further said it would form a special committee to address China's alleged distortion of Korean history in its textbooks and seek immediate correction of distorted historical facts via diplomatic channels.
