N. Korea-Japan Talks on Abductees End Without Progress

Prospects for normalizing diplomatic ties between North Korea and Japan are looking gloomy as the two sides have failed to reap any substantial results on the issue of Japanese abductees.

Officials of the two countries on Thursday concluded two days of working-level talks in Beijing over Tokyo's demand for a reinvestigation into the fate of ten suspected Japanese abductees who still remain unaccounted for.
