After a second day of competition in Athens, South Korea is still without any gold medal.
On Sunday, Bang Gui-man in the men's 66-kilogram class and Lee Eun-hee in the 52-kilogram class were both disqualified in their opening matches.
Kim Hee-jung, another gold medal hopeful in the women's epee event, was defeated in the quarterfinals.
South Korea currently sits at 25th in the overall medal standings with only one bronze medal so far, casting doubts over its stated goal of finishing in the top 10 in the medal race.
However, three of the world's top archers, Yun Mi-jin, Park Sung-hyun and Lee Sung-jin, who broke a combined three world records in the ranking round, have easily won their opening individual competitions and advanced to the round of 32.
In badminton, the world No. one pairing of Kim Dong-moon and Ra Kyung-min defeated the Dutch pair of Chris and Lotte Bruil to advance into the quarterfinals.
South Korean tennis star Lee Hyung-taik and Cho Yoon-jung in the women's tennis singles both advanced to the second round.
Meanwhile, following its first win in Athens over Mexico, the Korean men's soccer team is scheduled to play its final Group A match against Mali early Tuesday morning Korean time.
The team only needs to draw with Mali to reach the quarterfinals.
