North Korea has denounced the U.S. for its alleged attempts to hinder the Gaesong Industrial Complex by stringently applying an international agreement that Pyongyang says is detrimental to the ongoing project.

The North said on Thursday that Washington had notified Pyongyang that it would strictly abide by the Wassenaar Arrangement, which bans exports of strategic items to countries on the U.S. list of terrorism-sponsoring nations.

Meanwhile, South Korea and the U.S. are reportedly holding working-level talks to discuss Seoul's plan to send certain equipment, including advanced computers, to the North to equip the factories and companies being built in the industrial park.

South Korea is among 33 countries that signed the Wassenaar Arrangement. The agreement was instituted to restrict the flow of commercial weapons, electronics and telecommunications products to countries supporting terrorism or causing regional strife.
