S. Korea Posts Current Account Surplus in March for 23rd Straight Month

South Korea posted a current account surplus in March for the 23rd consecutive month.  

According to preliminary data from the Bank of Korea on Friday, the surplus stood at nine-point-14 billion dollars for the month, up two billion dollars from a month earlier and two-point-two billion dollars from a year earlier. 
 
The country has reported a current account surplus every month since May 2023.

The goods account recorded a surplus of eight-point-49 billion dollars in March, a slight increase from the surplus logged the previous month. 

Exports increased two-point-two percent on-year to 59-point-three billion dollars in March, while imports gained two-point-three percent on-year to 50-point-eight billion dollars.
