The country’s foreign exchange market will be closed on June 3, the day of the presidential election. 

The Seoul foreign exchange market operations council said Wednesday that the market will be closed next Tuesday, since it has been declared a temporary holiday due to the presidential election. 

The council said it made the decision in consideration of smooth transactions between foreign exchange market participants and stable market operations.

The market will reopen at 9 a.m. next Wednesday.
