S. Korea Posts Current Account Surplus in April for 24th Straight Month

South Korea posted a current account surplus in April for the 24th consecutive month.  

According to preliminary data from the Bank of Korea on Tuesday, the surplus stood at five-point-seven billion dollars for the month, three-point-four billion dollars less than the previous month. 
 
The country has reported a current account surplus every month since May 2023.

The goods account recorded a surplus of eight-point-99 billion dollars in April, a slight increase from the surplus logged the previous month. 

Exports increased one-point-nine percent on-year to 58-point-five billion dollars in April, while imports dropped five-point-one percent on-year to 49-point-five billion dollars.
