After a stop in Jakarta, Labor Minister Kim Dae-hwan is heading to Vietnam.

In Hanoi, Kim will meet Prime Minister Phan Van Khai and discuss measures to successfully implement the newly-introduced employment permit system of foreign workers in South Korea.

Kim had similar discussions with Indonesian President Megawati Sukarnoputri on Monday.

At talks with the Indonesian leader, Minister Lee explained the basics of the new permit system, asking her country to exercise transparency in selecting job candidates to send to South Korea.

In response, Megawati pledged efforts to eradicate the illegal smuggling of Indonesian laborers and upgrade the quality of human resources transferred to other nations.
