Chairwoman Park Guen-hye of the main opposition GNP had a private six-hour meeting Tuesday with a 17-year-old fan, making good on her earlier promise to personally meet the one-million-and-first visitor to her Internet homepage.

Kwon Soon-ho, a male student preparing for college entrance exams, was the lucky winner.

The friendly meeting took place in a cafe in Seoul, during which Park revisited childhood memories and advised Kwon to cherish his friendships. Recalling her mother's early death, the GNP leader said she was forced to take on a maternal role in the family, leaving her no time to have fun or even wear jeans like other young women.

After the conversation over coffee, the two enjoyed a round of board games, a popular pastime among young Koreans these days. They also took a stroll in Seon-yu-do Park and capped off the day's meeting with a cruise on the Han River.
