Disgraced Terraform Labs co-founder Kwon Do-hyung, also known as Do Kwon, has changed his stance and pleaded guilty in hopes of a significantly reduced sentence in connection with a massive cryptocurrency crash in 2022.

Kwon pleaded guilty to two felony counts of wire fraud and conspiracy to defraud on Monday in a plea deal at a New York court.

Under the plea bargain agreement Kwon must forfeit more than 19 million dollars, along with several properties.

He could face up to 25 years in prison, but as part of the plea deal, prosecutors have agreed to refrain from seeking a sentence longer than 12 years.

The U.S. Department of Justice has reportedly agreed to support his application for the international prisoner transfer program if he serves half his sentence and complies with the terms of the plea deal, meaning he could serve the other half in South Korea if he applies for the transfer.
