The government has extended its fuel tax cuts for two more months, until the end of October.

The finance ministry on Thursday announced that the extensions were decided in consideration of the volatility in oil prices and the financial burdens affecting most people.

The current fuel tax cuts — ten percent for gasoline and 15 percent for diesel and liquefied petroleum gas — were extended by two months until October 31.

The fuel tax cuts, first introduced in November 2021, have been extended every two months with some adjustments.

The latest move marks the 17th extension.
