Cumulative ticket sales for comedy flick "My Daughter is a Zombie," starring Cho Jung-seok, surpassed four million, the largest number for a film released this year.

According to the Korean Film Council's Box-office Information System, "My Daughter is a Zombie" saw cumulative ticket sales of slightly more than four million as of 5:25 p.m. Friday following its release on July 30.

The movie broke the four-million mark within the shortest time this year.

It also became number one in North America in terms of ticket sales for a South Korean film this year, while ranking second in overall box office sales in Vietnam and third in Indonesia since being released in those regions on August 8.

Adapted from Lee Yoon-chang's popular webtoon, "My Daughter is a Zombie" is the story of a father who tries to protect his daughter after she becomes a zombie by "training" her to suppress her violent instincts.
