S. Korean Stocks Slip for 2nd Day amid Investor Caution over Global Risks

South Korean stocks closed lower for a second straight session Tuesday as investors stayed cautious ahead of the U.S. Federal Reserve’s policy outlook and global geopolitical developments. 

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) lost 25-point-72 points, or zero-point-81 percent, Tuesday to close at three-thousand-151-point-11.

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also fell, losing ten-point-09 points, or one-point-26 percent, to close at 787-point-96.

Market heavyweights ended mixed. 

Samsung Electronics was unchanged, SK hynix fell one-point-68 percent, and LG Energy Solution edged up zero-point-26 percent. 

Samsung Biologics slipped zero-point-39 percent, while Celltrion was flat. 

Defense contractor Hanwha Aerospace tumbled six-point-87 percent.
