South Korea’s food exports to the United States have declined for the first time in more than two years due to U.S. tariffs.

According to data from the Korea Trade Statistics Promotion Institute on Wednesday, South Korean agricultural and food exports to the U.S., including processed foods such as ramen and snacks, totaled 139 million dollars in July, down ten million dollars or six-point-seven percent from the same period last year.

This marks the first year-on-year drop in 26 months, since May 2023.

Shipments of ramen, a key export item, slipped 17-point-eight percent on-year in July to 14 million dollars, although ramen exports in the first half of this year jumped 40-point-eight percent from a year earlier.

Snack exports to the U.S. fell 26 percent year-on-year to 20 million dollars, while shipments of sauces declined by seven-point-two percent to seven million dollars.
