South Korea's electric vehicle (EV) exports to the United States plummeted in July, falling nearly 100 percent year-on-year amid a sharp decline in U.S. production and sales.

According to data from the Korea Automobile Manufacturers Association, based on figures from the Korea Customs Service, South Korea exported just 164 EVs to the United States last month, a 97-point-four percent drop compared to the same period last year.

This marks the lowest monthly export volume since 2021, when the country began ramping up EV shipments in earnest.

In March of last year, South Korea exported 13-thousand-280 EVs to the United States, but the July figure represents just one-point-two percent of that volume.

Cumulative EV exports to the United States for the first seven months of this year also declined sharply, falling 88-point-four percent year-on-year to approximately 84-hundred units.
