President Lee Jae Myung has arrived in the United States for summit talks with U.S. President Donald Trump after concluding his visit to Japan.

Lee’s presidential plane landed at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland on Sunday afternoon, kicking off a three-day visit to the U.S.

On Monday, Lee will hold a high-stakes summit with Trump at the White House, participate in a business roundtable with top corporate executives from both nations, and deliver a speech at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a prominent U.S. think tank.

Lee and Trump are expected to finalize details of a bilateral trade deal announced late last month and to discuss security issues, including the Trump administration’s plans to “modernize” the South Korea-U.S. alliance.

On Tuesday, Lee plans to visit the Hanwha Philly Shipyard in Philadelphia and a memorial site for Korean independence activist Seo Jae-pil, also known as Philip Jaisohn, before heading home.
