The Korea Meteorological Administration issued heat wave warnings on Monday morning for parts of Seoul and Gyeonggi Province.

The affected districts are Songpa, Gangnam, Seocho and Gangdong in southern and southeastern Seoul, along with the cities of Hwaseong, Ansan, Gunpo, Guri, Uiwang and Gwacheon in southern Gyeonggi Province.

Such warnings are issued when apparent temperatures are forecast to exceed 35 degrees Celsius for at least two consecutive days or when severe heat-related damage is expected.

Warnings also remain in place for 17 other areas, including Goyang, Gyeonggi Province.
