Three out of four Korean brand products sold at extremely low prices on overseas online platforms were found to be counterfeits.

According to the Seoul Metropolitan Government on Friday, it conducted an inspection of 20 products from seven domestic brands sold on foreign platforms, such as AliExpress.

Nine items of clothing and swimwear under four brands had different logos and labels from genuine products.

Three other items — bags and other general merchandise goods — were counterfeit, so were three children's toys.

The city government urged consumers to verify the registered trademark and logo design through the Korean Intellectual Property Office and to carefully read product information and reviews before purchase.
