President Lee to Address UN General Assembly on Sept. 23

President Lee Jae Myung will attend the UN General Assembly later this month and deliver a keynote address. 

Presidential spokesperson Kang Yu-jung said Tuesday that President Lee is scheduled to deliver an address at the 80th session of the General Assembly at the UN headquarters in New York on September 23.

Kang said that in the speech, the president will share with the international community South Korea’s experience of overcoming a crisis of democracy and recovering, while presenting his government’s vision and policies on key global issues, including those related to the Korean Peninsula.

The spokesperson said that as chair of the UN Security Council, Lee will also preside over an open debate on artificial intelligence, international peace and security.

South Korea assumed the rotating presidency of the Security Council for the month of September.
