The special counsel team investigating the December 3 martial law case has raided the homes of former People Power Party floor leader Choo Kyung-ho.

The team, led by special counsel Cho Eun-suk, said Tuesday that it sent prosecutors and investigators to Choo’s residences in Daegu and southern Seoul to secure evidence, as well as his National Assembly and constituency offices.

On Tuesday morning the team also seized the mobile phone of a party staff member who assisted Choo during martial law.

The team is looking into allegations that on the night of martial law, Choo complied with a request from former President Yoon Suk Yeol and tried to obstruct the crucial vote that lifted martial law.

Choo allegedly did so by changing the location of an emergency party meeting multiple times, alternating between the National Assembly and the party headquarters in Yeouido.

Choo denies having discussed the vote with Yoon.
