A South Korean consumer protection agency says robot vacuums equipped with cameras might be susceptible to security breaches and compromise users’ privacy.

On Tuesday the Korea Consumer Agency released the results of its investigation into six popular robot vacuums and cautioned that photos and video footage captured by the built-in cameras are not safe from hackers.

While demonstrating various ways consumers’ privacy can be violated with the cameras, the agency said the manufacturers have already taken measures after being notified of security vulnerabilities in their products.

The agency advised robot vacuum users to create secure passwords, which should consist of at least eight characters and include both capital and lowercase letters, as well as numbers and special characters.
