U.S. President Donald Trump says the detention of about 300 South Koreans in a recent U.S. immigration raid at a Hyundai Motor manufacturing facility in Georgia will not harm relations between South Korea and the United States.

Trump made the remarks to reporters on Sunday upon landing at Joint Base Andrews after watching the U.S. Open men’s tennis final in New York.

When asked whether the incident might strain South Korea-U.S. relations, Trump said no, adding that the U.S. has a great relationship with South Korea and that they just made a trade deal.

Trump said the U.S. may need skilled personnel from overseas to train Americans to perform complex tasks in areas such as battery manufacturing, computer production and shipbuilding.

The U.S. president said he will review the overall situation, adding that the U.S. needs to bring in experts to train Americans so they can eventually do the work themselves.
