The 30th Busan International Film Festival(BIFF) is set to kick off at 6 p.m. on Wednesday with a star-studded opening ceremony at the Busan Cinema Center outdoor theater.

The festival will feature 241 official selection films from 64 countries and 87 screenings from its Community BIFF side program.

To mark its 30th edition, BIFF is also launching a new competitive section highlighting contemporary Asian cinema.

Fourteen notable Asian titles will vie for best film, best director, the special jury prize, best actor and artistic contribution at the newly established Busan Awards.

Director Park Chan-wook's "No Other Choice" will open the festival.
