An economic official in Georgia reportedly said that internal discussions are underway about bringing South Korean workers who were detained after a recent U.S. immigration raid back to the United States.

Trip Tollison, president and CEO of the Savannah Economic Development Authority(SEDA), revealed the information in an interview with the daily newspaper Savannah Morning News published on Wednesday.

Tollison reportedly said that the South Korean workers must return because they are the only ones who can install equipment and train employees on battery cell technology.

While SEDA is technically a private organization, it works closely with the state of Georgia to promote regional economic growth.

Tollison said he fully understands the frustration of the South Korean workers who came to install battery equipment, but described them as sophisticated and talented and said the United States was relying on them.
