The International Monetary Fund(IMF) has slightly upgraded South Korea's growth outlook to zero-point-nine percent for this year.

The Finance Ministry said Wednesday that the organization had raised its forecast by zero-point-one percentage point from zero-point-eight percent after an IMF team visited South Korea for two weeks in September and engaged in its annual discussions with the nation's government.

The team held its 2026 growth outlook of one-point-eight percent unchanged from the July projection.

The revised forecasts of the IMF team, led by South Korea Mission Chief Rahul Anand, are likely to be reflected in the IMF’s official economic outlook next month.
