The state tourism agency is set to launch an aggressive marketing drive of cultural tour programs. The move is part of Seoul's efforts to make the most of the so-called Korea Wave ('Hallieu' in Korean) referring to the sweeping popularity of Korean pop culture across Asia. But now the government is gearing towards spreading the 'wave' elsewhere. The Korea National Tourism Organization (KNTO) said Friday it will begin marketing a tour package next month in the United States. The week-long program includes visits to major tourist attractions shown in South Korean blockbusters or TV dramas along with a chance to meet celebrity stars in person.
